One of the greatest things users should expect from the new OS X El Capitan OS is that it focuses more on fixing bugs and performances have been improved drastically. For instance, opening PDF files has increased by two times the previous speed, while launching Apps has increase by more than 1.5 times the previous speed. Aside the enhanced performance and bugs fixing , the new El Capitan has also brought some new and cool useful options such as auto-hiding and show for menu bar, just to name a few. This means the menu bar that appears at the top of the screen of your Mac device can now be hidden, and at the same time you can bring the menu bar back by simply moving the cursor to the top just the way the auto-hide features operates for the dock.

The auto-hide and show trick will give you a full screen mode, and the full screen access you get here even allows you access several apps at the same time.
How to enable auto hide and show feature for Mac Menu bar
Step 1: Open the system preference from your Homescreen, and here you will see options such as General, dock, Desktop & Screensaver, and Mission Control.

Step 2: Simply click on “General” which is the first option from the left of the screen. There will be a new screen with three box or options appearing.

The three boxes here are; Appearance (contains a drop down menu for changing the Buttons, Menus, and Windows settings) Under this box, you will see two boxes below the first one is for the dark menu bar and dock while the second one will allow you to automatically hide and show the menu bar from the homescreen and this is the box you need to check. There are two other boxes under this box and these are the “Highlight colour”, and “Side bar icon size” , the highlight colour allows you to change the colour of the contents of the homescreen while the side bar icon size will simply allow you to change the sizes of your icons from small to medium and large.
Step 3: Simply check on the box that states “Automatically hide and show the menu bar” and you are done.

Once you have automatically hide your icons, they will disappear from the screen but you can bring them back on with the use of your homescreen cursor. It does not matter how long the icons are hidden, you can always bring them back to your homescreen, but the issue with this feature is that you may need to view an icon sometimes before using it, thus you will have to bring all your icons back to the screen and select the ones you need before hiding them once again. With this feature, you have to be patient with hiding and bringing back icons, thus you may not have to use the feature quite frequently.
