How to Jailbreak iOS 7.1.2 Devices using Pangu

Apple released the iOS 7.1.2 for bug fixes and security updates, since this new iOS became available the Pangu team’s awaited announcement for iOS 7.1.2 has not been late and just on time.

The advantage is users can upgrade to iOS 7.1.2 by not losing any opportunity now and jailbreak by using Pangu that we will guide you through step by step very easily.

Before we start the process of jailbreaking please be aware of the following notes:

The guidance is prepared for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users, the devices should be running on iOS 7.1, iOS 7.1.1 or iOS 7.1.2 to check which version your device is operating on please use the steps as follows; Settings → General → About → Version

- This guidance is useful for both Windows and Mac users.

- The jailbreak of Pangu is untethered for iOS 7.1, iOS 7.1.1 or iOS 7.1.2 running devices.

- Pangu jailbreak supports the devices iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4S and iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad Mini, Retina iPad Mini, iPad Touch 5G.

- The iTunes installed on your device should be the latest version and make sure you have updated before you start jailbreaking.

- Remember to back up your iPhone to iCloud or iTunes before proceeding to jailbreak.

- Warranty of your device may be revoked due to jailbreaking please be aware of this and perform the jailbreak on your own risk.

- Please do not consider jailbreaking to pirate apps from Apple Store as it is not intended to serve this purpose.

- This guide can also be used to jailbreak your iPad and iPod touch 5g with Pangu.

- Setting → General → Passcode lock on → Turn Passcode off. By using these small setting changes you will disable the passcode lock function and in jailbreak process you need to have the passcode lock disabled to not to fail the jailbreak.

STEP 1.

As first step to jailbreak process please download the latest version of Pangu jailbreak for Mac or Windows from this link.

STEP 2.

Double click on the Pangu dmg file you have just downloaded from the link provided to mount it. If you are using windows double click on the file and run as an administrator.

STEP 3.

You will be seeing a new window as similar to the one below with a Pangu.app icon:

STEP 4.

You will be following the onscreen instructions to complete the jailbreak, it is quite straight forward. Double click on the icon and press the black jailbreak button to start the process.

STEP 5.

You will be following the onscreen instructions to complete the jailbreak, it is quite straight forward. The process will require you to set the date to 2nd of June, you should do this by selecting the functions;

Setting → General → Date & Time

STEP 6.

Since the date has been now changed as required jailbreak process should restart and install the Pangu application on your iOS device.

STEP 7.

Very close to completion, you need to tap on the Pangu application to carry on with the jailbreak process. The following messages will be displayed on your screen “Are you sure you want to open the Application “Pangu” from the Developer “iPhone Distribution: Hefei Bo Fan communication technology co. LTD”? Tap on Continue to proceed.

After several rebooting has completed you will see the Cydia on your homescreen that allows you to start installing the tweaks for  your iOS 7.1.2 running device.

STEP 8.

This is the last step of course you can revert the time back to the right date and time by using the normal functions in your device: Setting → General → Date & Time
